I'm a strategically minded entrepreneurial accountant with 20+ years of experience in practice and within industry.
I am currently a director at three accountancy firms: Thyme Accountants Ltd, Inaequo Ltd and Bon Accord Accountancy Ltd.
I’m also currently the finance director of eCERTO Energy Ltd, having previously had boardroom experience at other companies.
I also undertake some lecturing at Aberdeen Business School.
Outside of work, my interests include football, dabbling in cryptocurrency, walking my dogs and live music.

I’m a general practice accountant, which for the uninitiated, means that I know a little bit about a lot of things in terms of business.
I therefore write about a wide variety of topics and will always be pleased to hear feedback - even if it is negative, I’m a cancer survivor and can therefore take anything you throw at me!

💻 Chartered Certified Accountant
I'm a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), who holds a current ACCA practicing certificate, allowing me to advise clients in respect of UK Accountancy and Taxation matters. I am also an associate member of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners, enabling me to independently examine registered charity accounts in the UK.
💸 Virtual Finance Director
Through my directorship at Inaequo Ltd, we provide outsourced FD services that are centred around the use of technology, enabling us to create beautiful monthly business performance reports and advise companies on KPI performance and business strategy.
📊 Business Start-Ups
I love advising clients on their growth journey, whether or not it is a micro-entity, or one that has the potential to turnover millions. I can advise on organisational setup, raising finance, obtaining EIS advance assurance, company valuation etc. This skill ties in nicely with my Virtual Finance Director services!
